New Stars for learning disabilities and autism pilots coming to an end
Two new Stars, the Life Star for People with Learning Disabilities and Spectrum Star for People on the Autistic Spectrum, are nearing the end of their pilot periods and we are looking forward to receiving feedback. Initial indications are positive.
The Life Star is being developed in collaboration with ten organisations including four NHS Trusts and major service providers in the voluntary and private sectors. It aims to be meaningful for people with mild to profound learning disabilities and a range of resources are being piloted. We plan to publish the Life Star in early 2012.
Brookdale Care is our collaborator for the development of the Spectrum Star and has already completed the pilot version with 100 service users across a range of services. We are looking forward to the end of pilot workshop in early November and plan to publish the Spectrum Star by Christmas.
