Article on values and theory of the Outcomes Star

Have you wondered what the theoretical foundations of the Outcomes Star are – or been asked about this by colleagues, clinicians or commissioners? A new article by Triangle Director Joy MacKeith in the Journal of Housing Care and Support addresses these questions.

The article shows how the Outcomes Star is rooted in the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach and builds on this and extends it into Participatory Assessment and Measurement (PAM). Like PAR it grows out of a critique of traditional approaches and is based on the values of collaboration with and empowerment of service users and integration of measurement into the day-to-day work of the organisation.
