The Outcomes Star™ in Canada

Broadview Applied Research Group, founded by Dr. Raymond Downie, have the exclusive licence to provide and promote Outcomes Star services within Canada.

Broadview Applied Research Group has been involved in research, evaluation and consultancy in the human services field for more than 20 years.  In 2013, as a result of growing interest in the Outcomes Star across Canada, Dr. Raymond Downie, founding principal of Broadview Applied Research Group, invited Triangle Director Sara Burns to spend a week in Alberta to discuss Canadian implementation and provide training and in 2014, Triangle granted Broadview Applied Research Group an exclusive license to provide Star services within Canada.

Raymond Downie is the founding principal of Broadview Applied Research Group. In the early 1990s after completing his doctorate in Education, he developed a company to work with organizations, especially in the non-profit and government sectors, to strengthen their capacity to examine and improve services, programs and structures to better serve their clients. His introduction to Outcomes Star in 2013 created an opportunity to become involved in an innovative approach to evaluation that not only provides useful evidence of client outcomes, but does so in a meaningful way for both client and caseworker through an approach that is strength-based, empowering, collaborative and integrated.

Broadview provides organizations with the following services:

  • Training in all versions of the Outcomes Star
  • Implementation consultancy
  • Assessment and evaluation consultancy and support
  • Applied research

Broadview Applied Research Group offers Canadian service providers the training and support they need to ensure quality implementation and use of the Outcomes Star. To find out more, discuss licence options, book training or talk about the best approach for your organization, contact Broadview Applied Research Group.
